"I had migraines for over 20 plus years. Took numerous medicines and Drs trips every two days trying to find a miracle relief. Took imitrex daily for years till finally saw a headache specialist who said I qualified for Botox. 5 years later I don’t have chronic daily migraines anymore. I went from daily to maybe once every 2 months. I still have triggers but not half as bad. What I experienced lately which a CAUSE of having a migraine brain. I m wanting to know if anyone has experienced a disorder called Transient global amnesia???? My husband 2 weeks ago brought me too emergency when I lost my memory for about 12 hours. Very scary for him . He thought I had a stroke. Still today I don’t remember anything that night. This is what neurologist diagnosed me to have. Has anyone else experienced this with having migraines for years???"
Thank you for reaching out and sharing this with us. I am happy to hear you are seeing fewer migraine attacks with Botox. It can be a real game changer for many.
That sounds like a very scary experience, I'm sorry you went through that. I haven't dealt with this, but am sure others who have will be along to share their story. I did find this study from 2019 that discusses an association between TGA and migraine; https://neuro.psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/appi.neuropsych.17120353#_i7.
How are you feeling now and will you keep me posted?
