Hopeful?

Well I'm sad and glad to say I'm headed to Chicago for inpatient care at the diamond headache clinic. Happy because they should be able to get my month and a half constant 8-10 pain scale migraine under control. Sad because my husband and I had many plans this weekend. I'm trying to be grateful and mostly succeeding :) have a great weekend everyone!!

I am originally from Chicago..moved to Las Vegas in 1992..now in Atlanta for grandchildren for the last 2 years..possibly headed back. I spent 9 days inpatient at the diamond headache clinic from December 2-11. 2004... I left with a great plan. Feeling better without a doubt. Unfortunately I let my new neurologist in Las Vegas talk me out of the carefully planned out treatment for migraines because my new doc said the drugs I was given were old and archaic ..newer stuff and better. He was dead wrong... I feel you will get outstanding treatment. I would love to near how it goes for you. The doc I had left and went to Baylor in Texas....but should I ever decide to go back to diamond..Merle Diamond would be my doc of choice. It's a fabulous,our program and you'll meet so many just like you. Hope it goes great..will watch to see what you post. Janet Jones

Hi, I live in the Chicago area and was admitted to the Presence St. Joseph Hospital for 7 days by my doctor who works at the Diamond Headache Clinic. The first 3 days were brutal, and I developed a Deep Vein Thrombosis in my arm from a PICC line (no good veins left for an I.V. port), but I would go back in a heartbeat if I ever had intractable migraine pain again. I'd be interested in hearing about your experience when you have recovered. It took a few weeks for my energy to return after 6 days of DHE treatment. Best regards Deborah
