My story.

I have migraines. I have them about two times a week. I have missed a ton of school. I feel like no one understands the emotional and physical pain that a migraine can give you except the people who get them.

I feel like people think I am weak because I have to miss things because of my migraines because they think they are just little headaches. I feel like people are “making fun” of me because of my migraines. I know that migraines are not just little headaches they are more than that anyone that gets them knows that. Migraines are not something funny they are serious. I guess I just had to get that off my chest. Thank you for reading.

I understand completely; I’m in college and migraines have interfered with school work and extracurricular activities on countless occasions. It’s absolutely frustrating. Stay positive, learn as much about your migraines to help reduce their frequency and remember that you’re never alone and that you are not weak at all – migraines are serious and if anything they make you tougher! Good luck!

I’m having the same problem, except that I’m probably much older than you and my co-workers just don’t get it. They also don’t like having to do my work when I’m out so often. I’m not sure why my migraines have gotten so much worse over the past few years, but my doctor and I are working toward finding the right combination of meds that will work again. I completely understand what you are going through. I hope you can find one or two friend who can empathise with you… they will help you get through the roughest parts. You are not alone.
