My Life with Migraines

I've suffered from migraines since I was a teenager. I currently use only OTC products, as our insurance does not cover the cost of prescription medication. I have several migraines a month. I try to push through the pain, and sleep through it when I can. Most of my migraines last approximately 24 hours.

I have started identifying food triggers for several of my migraines, and have found salt plays a major part in some of my migraines. I also have a least one more severe migraine every month. This is the most debilitating. I try not to drive during these episodes, because my motor function is impacted, and I fear a police officer would conclude that I was under the influence. My primary symptoms are: pain on one side of my head, constipation, nausea, sensitivity to sound and light, loss of motor skills, dehydration. I suffer anxiety & depression as a side effect of the migraines, and was recently placed on an Prozac.

I would like to focus on better eating habits and low impact exercise to reduce stress to see if making changes in these areas will reduce the number of migraines I experience each month.
