Sometimes I Just Need a Break

Do you ever need a break from being “sick?” Unless you’re living with a chronic illness like migraine firsthand, it’s hard to understand the true weight it carries in your life.

Migraine can feel inescapable

It can feel inescapable. You have days where you’re lying in bed waiting for the pain to go away. And then even on your good days, your energy is consumed with the healthy habits that will hopefully help you to avoid future migraines.

Taking a break

That’s why I needed a break. Of course, the reality isn’t so simple, but what is simple is taking a few intentional, mindful breaths throughout the day that bring me to the present moment. Focus on this moment – not the disease. Don’t underestimate the power of a single breath when practiced consistently.
