3 Ways to Remember to Take a Medication Every Other Day

Nurtec is taken every other day for migraine prevention and I was skeptical I'd remember to take it. In this video, I share the three things I do to take it on time.

I have only used Nurtec as an abortive but can see where trying to take a medication every other day could be challenging. I have several meds I have to take every day, at different times of day. I use an app called Round to remind me. It gives you 2 notifications if you forget to take them and is simple to add new meds or remove them. I don't miss doses very often, unless I'm away from home when I'm supposed to take something. What makes this work for me is that it leaves a notification on my phone and I have to check off meds when I take them. I never have those, "Did I take it or not?" thoughts that come with having more than one medication. I know I never would have been able to remember to take Nurtec while I was on it, without the app.

I have meds for stomach issues as well as migraine that I have to take at different times of day. It can get confusing in the middle of a bad migraine. I know I'd mess up taking stuff if I didn't use this app. It really comes in handy when I have a doctor's appointment too. I have all my medications and dosages in one place on my phone. I don't even have to try to pronounce them, I just hand my phone to the nurse so she can make sure they're all in my records.

No, not a good video at all. How about NOT taking drug-pushing big pharma poison medication every other day? How about taking responsibility for your health and looking at holistically and naturally treatment of your migraine, eg. herbalism, diet etc etc - without using toxic drugs? Long term use of drugs leads to toxicity of the system = worsening of migraines. The site consistently pushes the use of bigpharma drug - is it funded by bigpharma, it would seem so.

 <inline-mention username="jems" user-id="3768013"/> I had many years with no medical insurance and couldn't afford prescription meds so I had to make do with ice packs, trying many many different diets, herbs (found I was deathly allergic to feverfew), chiropractic and acupuncture care. Having a health diet and taking care of my body with exercise did make me feel way better when not having a migraine but did absolutely nothing to reduce the frequency and severity of my migraines. I expected them to improve after menopause but instead they got worse and more frequent. Migraines run in my family and a relative mentioned she was having a lot of success with Nurtec. I have been fortunate enough to be able to purchase a health insurance plan that I could afford through the marketplace now (tried several years ago and it wasn't affordable but the prices have come down for my area) and was able to see a doctor and get a Nurtec prescription. I signed up for the manufacturer's program and they cover my copay and so I don't have to pay out of pocket for it at all. (No way could I afford it without that). I was almost afraid to hope that it would work for me after trying so many other things and seeing them fail. I'm finally able to work full time and am super thankful.

I have tried many things to remember every other day, but the only one that has been successful for me is a weekly pill box which I also include any daily supplements in, this way I'm still using it every day, but I can plan ahead when I refill it and only include the nurtec in every other day. Having the specific day of the week on the pill case helps with this as well to keep the order straight.
