What type of medication has been successful for vertiginous migraines?

I suffer from migraine induced vertigo. My neurologist has switched my meds (always anti-depresents) which always have negative emotional effects. I am not normally so emotional. Has anyone had great success with another type of med (beta blocker, etc) for vertiginous migraines?

  1. Hi there Samba,
Thanks so much for your question. I am sorry to hear you have had such difficulty at finding effective treatment that does not cause negative side effects. I am sure this must be very discouraging. As you wait for possible feedback from the community, I thought I'd share these two articles which both include a portion that discuss treatments. (be sure to review the member comments at the conclusion of this article)

Wishing you all the best at finding the treatment that you are in great need of! Nice hearing from you & always feel free to reach out.

    1. Thank you for the articles. I have not met anyone with this type of migraine condition before and they helped alleviate the fear of yet another misdiagnosis.

  2. I was diagnosed with migraine with vertigo a few years ago. I was on nortriptyline for a while, but I felt it slowed me down. I'm now on venlafaxine as my daily preventative. That seems to work fairly well.
