What type of medication has been successful for vertiginous migraines?

I suffer from migraine induced vertigo. My neurologist has switched my meds (always anti-depresents) which always have negative emotional effects. I am not normally so emotional. Has anyone had great success with another type of med (beta blocker, etc) for vertiginous migraines?

  1. Hi there Samba,
Thanks so much for your question. I am sorry to hear you have had such difficulty at finding effective treatment that does not cause negative side effects. I am sure this must be very discouraging. As you wait for possible feedback from the community, I thought I'd share these two articles which both include a portion that discuss treatments.

    1. Thank you for the articles. I have not met anyone with this type of migraine condition before and they helped alleviate the fear of yet another misdiagnosis.

  2. I was diagnosed with migraine with vertigo a few years ago. I was on nortriptyline for a while, but I felt it slowed me down. I'm now on venlafaxine as my daily preventative. That seems to work fairly well.

    1. Thank you for your response.
