I was watching Titanic and all of a sudden something was wrong with the screen. I kept blinking and trying to see the movie, but then there was a large white bright light and it followed my eye line. I had no idea what an aura was, I had never heard of them. I was really scared.... And that brings me up to today where they are basically daily, not hideous every day, exhausting though and I rarely have auras at all now.

Thank you for sharing your very first symptoms of migraine,

It was really scary, I thought I was going blind! But then as they do it went away fairly quickly 15 or 20 mins maybe, and then since my vision was fine I thought I was just something in the movie or the theatre . And then I had another aura and maybe a few more, having no clue why. And I didn't connect the " headache" for some reason. But they were very random and rare, so I didn't remember to even ask. But as they got more frequent I finally told Dr. And then my journey with all the meds. But I was lucky that my dr knew what it was, but I didn't. And at that time Relpax did it's job! Now I have chronic daily migraine and am on lots of drugs and still are having them.... So I'm a work in progress.

I know some day that something will help! I also have fibromyalgia so there is a big crossover with which drug is used for which issue, but here's the list! Lyrica, amitriptyline, topimax, sertraline, tryptophan, vitamin D, magnesium.....I think that's it....

I think it is very murky for everyone. Drs still to diagnose me with whatever they are feeling in the moment, a lot of time right.., but do often I finally get in to see specialist and I would be there for all the tingling nerves and numbness say. And they would focus on my Vestibular migraine and in my muddled head I was elated that finally someone was paying attention.... And then tingling happens and I go back to square one, but am now trying something for the vestibular migraine. And that happens ALL the time!
So theoretically I seem to have it all covered, but no one is actually able to connect all the dots. So I sit in my chair doing art and embroidery and practice the miraculous art of distraction! Most days are 2 distraction days, embroidery and audiobook but on the 3 distraction days I struggle a bit to find 3 that match! And I really have no clue what chronic illnesses my daily challenges are from. Doesn't really matter I guess. I plug along and love my distractions!
Thanks for listening to my ramblings!
