Children's Motrin

When I first heard of using Children's Motrin, I was skeptical. My first migraine was in 1968. I had 7 in February of 2023 and just had 5 in August of 2024. Luckily, a good friend's daughter told me to try Children's Motrin. Put about a teaspoon in your mouth a swish it around for 30 second, then swallow or spit. I timed it twice in August and was symptom from after 17 minutes once, and 13 minutes the next. I have sumatriptan in my drawer, but haven't used it in 6 weeks. Try it!

  1. wow, I haven't heard of this approach before but it's certainly interesting. Thanks so much for taking the time to share it. There are so many different approaches out there to help manage migraine, and with each of us responding differently treatments, it's good to have options in our "migraine toolbox." Thanks again!

    1. I'm fascinated by this. Did you also have migraine between Feb. 2023 and Aug. 2024? Just curious to know more about how your experience has been over the years. And I also wonder if you chose to swallow or spit out the Motrin. It seems like it wouldn't work if you spit it out, you know? And did you try this with any other children's medications, like Tylenol?

Anyway, I am so thrilled that your sumatriptan is now collecting dust. Everyone has their own experience and path forward and we support you 100%! Wishing you continued success. -Melissa, team member
