Don't know where to turn...
Hello, this is my first post here. My daughter, 14, has had a headache for 14 straight days. Throbbing in and around the front of head and temples. CT scan was Saturday but have not heard results yet. She was given Sumitriptan on day 11. Gave 25mgs, didn't work, 2 hrs later 25 more, nothing, 2 hrs later 25 more...still nothing. Gave 100mgs in a 6 hr period and no relief. I don't know what to do. This is killing me watching this. 14 days is crazy. I'm worried sick. Please any ideas?
Oh, I hear your anguish, jillk. It is horrible feeling powerless in the face of your child enduring so much pain. Has this migraine episode finally eased for her? We cannot offer medical advice over the internet (for safety reasons!) and it sounds like you did a good job keeping in touch with her doctor, seeking answers and relief! Having a mama who advocates for her and was with her in the pain providing what comfort possible, while it may not feel like much, can make a huge difference. Your daughter knows she is not in this fight alone. I hope her medical team is able to identify a treatment that will help her manage her symptoms so she will not regularly suffer through such lengthy attacks.
