Full Migraine Remission (No more migraines)

Has anyone here had full migraine remission, or know someone who has?

My migraines are way less severe than the ones most people suffer from on this forum. Recently my migraines seem to have calmed down and they may even be in remission. For those of you with weaker migraines like me, have you ever gone into remission? And what about those with strong migraines? How long did you deal with migraines before they went into remission? What helped you, if anything?

  1. When our migraine disease eases it's really a blessing. Some people "grow" out of migraine cycles as they age, while others don't. It all depends on what is triggering our episodes. I can't say I've heard of people being in remission as a cancer patient would be, but I know that there are people that have gone years, even decades, without an attack, for whatever reason. I'm just happy for those folks! Migraine disease changes, adapts, and morphs over time as the disease interacts with our bodily systems. We are all unique, like a fingerprint! 1. Mine have always felt random - I still to this day dont think anything triggers them specifically but there is stuff that makes them worse. I wonder if there is something I am missing that is triggering them. Either way random or not it does seem stuff like lack of sleep increases the odds of me getting one or worsens them.

    2. If you haven't done it already, you could track your attack cycles for a while. Try to fit in as much detail as possible and note what you were experiencing before, during, and after an attack cycle. It is tedious but worth it if it helps uncover any patterns your attacks may follow. Sleep is another huge deal for many of us with migraine. My husband can't tolerate small disturbances in his sleep without affecting his migraines. Even a small break in his sleep can cause big problems. He is very mindful of how important good sleep hygiene is now. Hopefully, you will find a way to connect more dots in the randomness of your attack cycles! Warmly, Cheryl migraine.com team
