Is disability an option for someone with Hyperosmia/migraine?

I have hyperosmia related to migraine. I am not safe anywhere. Even in the hospital I work for. One whiff of any synthetic chemical and migraine takes over.

  1. Hi - Thank you for your question. I'm sure it's debilitating to try to navigate the workplace with this trigger. Disability is in reach for those living with migraine. It can be a bit of a process to apply and secure- but if you have the support of your doctor (best if it's a migraine specialist) and you are tenacious- it's possible to secure. I want to send you a list of resources we have about applying for disability. Please take a look and read the pieces that resonate with you most: https://migraine.com/search?s=disability. Does your workplace provide short and long-term leave or disability benefits? Here's some more information on that: https://migraine.com/blog/what-are-some-financial-options-for-people-with-migraines-who-are-unable-to-work. Please let us know what additional questions you have - we are here for you. Warmly- Holly -migraine.com team.
