I have been to two pain clinics and endured countless trials of different medications. Some things work for a short time, others work not at all. Presently I use Tylenol 3 for the pain and Gravol for the nausea. Both are increasingly hard to obtain. At some pharmacies, I get a bonus lecture along with my pills on using an opiate. I live between two provinces and can't take a prescription for an opiate from one province to another. Therefore I have to have a doctor in each province. One doctor makes me renew the prescription every 30 days. The other gives me a series of refills on a 30 day repeat. Sometimes I used aspirin to make it to the 30 day repeat, which eats the lining of my stomach out.
In the years since I've been identified as having chronic migraines there has been little progress in developing opiate free medications that work. As it's getting increasingly difficult to obtain T3's I'm anxious about the future. My life is ruled by my migraines.
