Rebound headaches caused by thc?

If you've ever had rebound headaches from cannabis or thc then please comment exactly how they were. If they happened after the cannabis was ingested or if they happened as the effects were wearing off. If the pain was beating or dull.

Some context is I've had headache issues for years now. I got introduced to Marijuana for many reasons and one of which was headaches. And it seemed to help. This was Years ago

Well now I've been seemingly getting headaches from ingesting thc in anyway. Or atleast "overusing" it. But for my medical needs to be met would require far more than my body is seeming to allow me to use.

I could really use some help finding out if these are rebound headaches or not. As I use cannabis for many medical reasons besides just my headaches.

  1. Also just to be clear. It's not dehydration. For sure

    1. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with us. This is tough and only a medical provider can accurately diagnose you. I can share information while we wait for others to share their story with you. I did find this small study that may give you a bit of insight; https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/947086.
Is there any chance you take a pain reliever and/or acute migraine medication, whether over-the-counter or prescription every day? The thing is if we do this two to three days a week we may increase our risk of moh. We do have information on this here; https://migraine.com/headache-types/medication-overuse-rebound.
Please keep me posted and I'm wishing you a low pain day, Nancy Harris Bonk, Patient Leader/Moderator Migraine.com Team
