  1. Hi, Iā€™m Amy. Iā€™m almost 53 years old & I live with Chronic Vestibular Mograine Attacks. Iā€™m slowly learning how to work a full time job. My

    1. oh my!! Wow. What a journey you had. I am glad that you finally got it though. I do not think I have known anyone who went through all that. But...as long as it ended favorably for you, I would say it was worth it. I have filed for disability before, do get it, but it was a journey. Do you have any tips for someone looking to file for disability? (Tonya, migraine.com contributor).

    2. thank you for the caring comments here. I hope that you are doing well this holiday Monday. (Tonya, migraine.com contributor).

  2. Hi there! I hate that weā€™re bonded by Chronic Migraine attacks. Hopefully we can learn from each other coping skills/tools. I know most of my triggers but Iā€™m always open to hearing what others are doing to manage.

    1. it's wonderful to meet you, although as you said, the thread that unites us - migraine - isn't the most pleasant to say the least! You have a great outlook though and it's true this community has a collective wealth of knowledge that is so helpful to tap into and share.

  3. Hi! My name is Mary -- I had episodic migraine with aura for over 30 years, then became chronic. I am managing as best I can with everything possible in my daily toolbox! Nice to meet you all 😀

  4. My name is Jane, My migraines started while I was in 3rd grade. It took doctors quite awhile to realize they are episodic migraines. I now have chronic migraines. I am 75 and try to manage with botox, aimovig, and gabapentin. I have suffered strokes due to migraines.

    1. I get immediate relief with the Nurtec (within 30 minutes) which usually lasts at least 24-48 hours. I have been on Nurtec for almost 2 years and that thanks to my regiment of Botox, Aimovig, Nurtec, and diet to avoid trigger foods, and only Excedrin Migraine, my life has become tolerable. Unfortunately, I had a stroke in 2011 brought on by Imitrex , and had to go on disability due to cognitive deficit. All in all, life is good and blessed to still be here.

    2. Thank you for sharing more about your journey. I'm so sorry to hear about the stroke and all that happened as a result. Glad you were able to secure disability. It sounds like you have a solid treatment regimen- a good combination of preventative and rescue options.
I can see why you have gratitude at this juncture even though you are still battling frequent migraine attacks. Compared to what you've been through - you've landed in a much more manageable place and I celebrate this with and for you. So glad you're with us! Warmly - Holly (team member)
