Trying to have a baby with severe migraines: what medications did you use?

I get severe migraines and get Botox injections and use sumatriptan and zofran shots. Just found out I can’t use them during and while I’m trying to get pregnant what did you do?

  1. Hello, cosmoastro, thank you for reaching out! I hear how overwhelming and scary it feels to be told your regular migraine management tools are not good options for you immediately before and during a pregnancy. While you wait for others to share their experiences with you, we have a variety of material about migraine and pregnancy on the site I thought you might be interested in perusing! Hopefully these resources will give you a few ideas of what might be helpful and what (in general terms) you may expect, given that all pregnancies are unique!

    1. Hi cosmoastro, I understand your dilemma. Have you asked your OB this question? Mine let me stay on an SSRI anti depressant and Zofran. I went to two different doctors and I have noticed that each doctor had a different perspective on medications. It must be hard to know what is best. I hope you can work this out with your doctor’s help.
