What are your goals this year?

๐ŸŽ‰ Happy New Year, Migraine.com community! What lifestyle changes or goals are you working towards this year?

  1. I have started taking magnesium, niacin and vitamin D 3. My migraines have decreased!

    1. That's fantastic news! Thank you so much for sharing this! There are probably other benefits to taking certain supplements as well (though we always suggest checking with a medical provider, as some supplementation is contraindicated in certain medical conditions or with other medications). I know here where I live they suggest Vitamin D late autumn through Spring simply because of the latitude, and it really makes a difference!

Do you have any other resolutions? (Migraine related or not!?)

Have a fantastic day! Tracy (Team Member)

  2. Past 18 months - 2 x TIA scares / MRI + other tests - discussed with Consultant my Ocular Migraines ! Twice informed no abnormalities - is a Neurological problem ! Awaiting a Private appointment with a Neurologist ( that I have arranged myself) to help me understand my head ! Have been on this forum for a good while so hope this will follow on under YUMMY - which will give insight into my head nightmare! Know I am not on my own - am no different to you out there- just so good to know I am ME and not a Rambling Hypochondriac! A good 2025 to everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š thankyou again gor listening ๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. So glad you are with us and that you know you are not alone. We are always here to listen, give support, information, and compassion. Sounds like you have been through a lot in the past year and a half. Good for you for proactively seeking evaluation, answers, and relief. Sometimes when the conditions collide and the pain and symptoms increase, our energy gets depleted, and it can be hard to push ourselves to seek answers. Wonderful that you have an appointment with a neurologist coming soon. Is this person also a migraine specialist? Just curious- as we often encourage those with migraine (and/or complex headache cases) to seek evaluation and treatment with a migraine specialist. These doctors have received more specialized training in the complex neurological disease that is migraine. If you'd be interested in taking a look at a list of migraine specialists near you, we can send you some referrals.

We'd be most interested in hearing the outcome of your upcoming appointment if you're open to circling back and sharing what you learn. Again, we are here for you and are so glad you're with us. Warmly - Holly (team member)

  3. Yes - A qualified Neurologist dealing with Migraines / Private Hospital - to have time , 1 to 1 - he will also have access to my full medical history - to itemise my questions as do not want to go into a ' nervous rambling mode ' .

    1. Sending you all the vibes for a good appointment. Great idea to get your questions in order beforehand as to not forget anything you want to discuss.
Please let us know how you make out, Nancy Harris Bonk, team member
