"i had covid in october 2020 and subsequently had pneumonia which seems to have caused some long term damage to my heart and my lungs. figuring out how to do people things like work and drive and even just basic things like keeping up personal hygiene and eating were difficult just with migraine but i was managing with A LOT of support.
my migraine doesn't super respond to medications or to any treatments i've tried (which is kind of a lot of things bc my insurance will approve most anything thankfully). i've failed out on everything that my doctors have come up with. and just the same, every medication that my new doctor has put me on for my heart so far has failed. i've never really gotten a handle on managing migraine (i'm not sure it's even possible to honestly) and i have absolutely no idea how to manage migraine with all my other health problems."

  1. @metaloochie I'm sorry to hear that you had Covid and suffered complications from it. We had Covid back in July and it took a lot out of us and we really didn't suffer from any complications so I know it's hard. My husband, daughters, and I all suffer from migraines as well and that can be quite challenging. I'm glad to hear you have a lot of support in your life . That's very important. I also know how frustrating it is to try medication after medication only to fail to get the desired results. Are you seeing a migraine or headache specialist yet? That can be a very valuable asset to have in your team of doctors. Also if you are not happy with the results or treatment plans of your current doctor don't be afraid to find a new doctor. There are some really good doctors out there. Managing migraines with other health problems can be tough, but with the right medical team, it's possible. It may take a while to build that team, but keep on working on it. It will only improve your quality of life in the long run. Warmly, Cheryl migraine.com team

  2. I also wonder if working with rehab could help you. It won't treat your symptoms, but the job of rehab therapists is to help strengthen your body while helping you find the tools and resources you need to return to independent-ish living. Cardiac rehab might be a good place to start. You can also see if your local health system/hospital has a patient advocate or social worker that can help line up and manage all the people needed for your care. Of course, I don't know your situation, so if this doesn't fit for you then please disregard it. My heart goes out to you -- keep doing the best you can, we are here for you! -Melissa, migraine.com team
