"Hi. Not good (in response to question How am I feeling?) Migraine again today, probably the 4 th out of the last 5 days. It’s been a rough few weeks. I don’t think the Ajovy is working anymore, again. This has happened before & the consensus at the time was that we’d just keep rotating the CGRP meds as necessary, when it did. That was before I learned about the infusions of the CGRP meds, as opposed to SubQ injections once a month. I have an appointment with my doctor on Friday, so that’s good. And, he’s always open to suggestions re my care. He’s not a migraine specialist, but he’s a good GP & the Neurologist, supposedly a migraine specialist who I saw some years ago was useless. He was more interested in impressing a flock of ? Residents than he was in my situation. It was so obvious & quite obnoxious. And, since we had to drive about 2 hours to his office, it was not even worth the trip & back. So, I’ve been managing with my GP, who is extremely supportive & caring, & willing to listen & do what it takes. I’ll report in again next week. Hopefully, with good news. "

  1. UGH! I'm so sorry to hear you are dealing with migraine today. I sure hope this resolves asap. If not, there are ways the GP can help you break this nasty attack. Have you ever tried a steroid dose pack to break an attack? We've heard from others who have good luck with this.
Here are a few resources on breaking a nasty attack. If you've seen these article before, I apologize.

  2. Thanks for sharing. I'm also facing a situation where most of the CGRP medications I've tried either lose effectiveness over time or don't work at all. My neurologist, although not a migraine specialist, has prescribed Vyepti, a quarterly infusion of CGRP. I'm currently awaiting approval and keeping my fingers crossed for positive results. I sincerely hope this new medication brings you relief. Have you considered combination therapy to help alleviate migraine pain and reduce duration? I understand how challenging it can be when treatment options seem limited. Sending you wishes for improved health and well-being. Rebecca (team member)
