   <p>@bwavesurfrgrl - Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with Aimovig and Nurtec. The preventative and rescue CGRPs have been a real lifesaver for many. The reality of paying for these drugs is another issue altogether. I did want to ask if you were aware of the fact that Aimovig, like the other two CGRP preventatives (Emgality and Ajovy) have savings programs that may be worth researching. Most of them are incentive programs to get people to try the treatments- a 12 month program in which you can get the drug for free for the year and then you have to pay. But still may be worth looking into. <br/><br/><br/>I also wanted to be sure to mention GoodRX - this is a coupon program for which anyone can qualify. You can go to their website and enter in the name of the drug you are seeking and find out whether or not they have a coupon that would make it less expensive to use rather than to go through insurance. In other words, it may be less expensive to pay out of pocket and use their coupon, than to pay through your insurance, depending on your insurance savings. For me, it is very beneficial to use GoodRX for some of my medications that my insurance charges several hundred dollars for, through GoodRX, I can get for $40 (I&#39;m speaking of triptans in this instance). You may have to go to a different pharmacy than your usual one to get the best cost but it may be worth your while to do so. <br/><br/><br/>It is so hard when we find these treatments that work so well and end up not being able to afford them! Hopefully one day the costs of these drugs will decrease. They really are exorbitant currently. Thinking of you- Holly (migraine.com team).</p>
