Be A Warrior

Migraines are confusing, misunderstood, unpredictable. They are triggered and experienced differently by each person. For me, there were days that required every ounce of energy I had to stay focused on a task. Days when each step felt like a thousand hammers against my skull. Days when I could not even lay down because just the touch of a pillow made the pressure in my head unbearable. But if you have migraines I don’t need to tell you about the pain, rather I want to remind you of hope.

For as long as I can remember I have had headaches. And for the past 10 years, a month had not gone by without at least one migraine....until now.
Today marks 100 days migraine free and better yet, medication free!!!
I wish I could share with you a magic answer but we all know one does not exist. What works for one person might not work for another. I can tell you however, that having a migraine does not make you weak. Refusing to let another migraine stop you from living your life takes tremendous amounts of strength and determination. Pushing through the pain is exhausting but you do not have to do this alone. Gather resources (doctors, a physical therapist, neurologist); build a sound support system (family, friends, coworkers); and learn what works for you (exercise, diet, sleep). When you put these tools together you will be able to conquer any challenge standing in your way.

{One cannot move a boulder alone, but gather an army and you will move mountains}

I know my journey is not over and there will likely be another migraine in the future but for now I enjoy what I have, I learn from past experiences, and I continue to build my army of resources.
If you suffer from migraines I want you to know you are not alone and I understand. There will be good days and there will be bad days but in the end the pain does not define or limit you. Stay strong and live your life!!!
