Death will end my search for a migraine specialist

Forget my story, long and harrowing.
I would just like to understand why in Canada you can not see a migraine specialist unless you live in Ontario or Alberta? I live in British Columbia, near Vancouver. We have Neurologists. Seen 5. No help. I think after getting by life with chronic migraine for 25 years, maybe I could be seen? But no. Anyone in this community have any suggestions? To me this is unacceptable.
Thank you for reading my rant. I am at my end.

Hi Shade. I am also from BC so I 100% understand how you feel. There is a great migraine specialist in Vancouver that I believe is connected to UBC and works out of VGH. His name is Dr Gordon Robinson.

Thank you for thinking of me. You are correct Dr .Robinson was the best Nurologist I have seen. Saw him 15 yrs ago, then again after the next 3 neurologists were extremely unhelpful . Dr Robinson said there is nothing to be done? I need a headache specialist. While I respect neurologist’s they simply have not been able to help me. I saw a pain specialist as well in Vancouver. It was suggested the “Nardel diet” may help.
I was un able to get off my antidepressant t be able to start the Nardil treatment, that was that. Any other suggestions are welcome. I had an 11 out of 10 yesterday. Knocked myself out with Zopiclbe and other meds. What a wonderful way to live. Thank you again for your comments.

Hi Shade, I’m so sorry to hear that you are feeling so frustrated. We do have members that are in Canada, and I’m hoping that they will join the conversation. I’d also invite you to share your question on our Facebook Page, and to reach out there anytime you need support or a friendly ear.

I would also urge you to please reach out to one of the CMHA Victoria. Please remember that you are not alone. – Warmly, Donna (Migraine.com team)
