My Migraine Story

I started to get migraines in 2006; I quit smoking on 1/23/06 on 2/21/06 I had my first migraine. I would be in bed for 4 to 5 days at a time unable to do anything. I finally went to the doctors after about 8 or 9 months dealing with the pain.

First the doctor sent me to a specialist he only wanted to pump pills in me to control the headaches. I decided this was not for me and I wean myself off the medicine.
I also found out I had an underactive thyroid. Two years ago they increased my medicine for my thyroid; and I actually had a couple months with out a migraine. I am always looking for why do I get them. I believe very strongly that I get mine because of my thyroid and my hormones out of wack. I can usually tell before I get one I become very FATIGUE. I always get plenty of rest.

I crave salt and sweets during the migraine. Yesterday I took magnesium (calm) instead of my migraine pill; it did help. I read an article where most Americans have a magnesium deficiency. I'm checking this out I had a migraine yesterday and I didn't take my migraine meds but after taking the magnesium it did finally go away. I just want to share that with everyone.
