Occipital Neuralgia

I was diagnosed with chronic Migraine almost three years ago now. I've had over 24 nerve block injections, 4 botox treatments, 2 sphenocath treatments, and been through multiple medications. Throughout the entire experience, I've always complained about neck pain, specifically where my neck reaches my occipital bone, and that my migraines seem to stem from my neck pain. A pain management Dr that I was seeing for a short period of time mentioned something about occipital neuralgia. Before we could explore it, he moved onto another state. Do any other migraine sufferers out there seem to have this same issue?

    1. I realize I’m adding to this 4 years after your original post, but I wanted to share. I’ve been diagnosed with Migraine and Occipital Neuralgia, which is extremely painful. However, I have found the BEST Neurologist and she has helped me tremendously! I get nerve blocker injections which are sent from heaven and take migraine meds. She has also suggested that I go to PT and try dry needling. Hope this helps😀
