Spouse talking during migraine

Hello, new to this

My spouse keeps asking me questions during migraines-
" Rate your pain from 1-10..Hhow are now (2 min later)?, Do you want some water?, D you need to go urgent care? ER?, How about now? Did you take your meds?...etc.

I love hat he cares but the last thing I want to do is talk at that time. If I need to go to ER I will let him know. I've talked to him several times but it keeps happening. Anyone else have this problem? Are there any articles I can have him read to back me up?

Any help appreciated, thanks

  1. Hi mflowers,

Welcome! Thank you for reaching out and being part of the Migraine.com discussion forum - we're glad you're here!

I'm sorry you are having this issue. Let me share this article by Tammy Rome about what we need from our spouses during a migraine attack; https://migraine.com/blog/helpful-tips-partners-spouses/.

Let me know if that helps,
    Nancy

    1. What a sweetie to fuss over you. My husband has a deep voice and the tone will often bother me. Asking him to speak softly or just hold my hand/ stay close but let's stay quiet is what I do. He's still taking care of me but...quietly. 😀
