Migraine Fear

What do you fear the most while you are in the middle of a Migraine?

  1. Making the people at my job mad because either I had to leave or call in sick . 🙁

    1. Waiting for my left side to stroke out. I never know when it's going to happen.

    2. That is scary. Do you go to the ER a lot? Has your neurologist also expressed a worry about this? I hope you have good people around you to check in and a plan that helps you feel cared for. -Melissa, team member

  2. That I won't be able to get it under control and will end up in the ER or hospital again.

    1. gloria… at 86 years old I am able to word off some of my migraines by the use of and the trip changed, which were not available when I was working at those times I frequently had to go to the ER after vomiting continuously hour after hour. I no longer vomit. I do get nauseous but do not throw up any longer because the trip to a meal and sometimes sleeping on a triptan knowing that a headache is coming on will knock it out. I suggest trying to get the Vyepti Infusion, which is given once every three months. I also take Noratriptan 2.5 mg and can sometimes get relief before the headache becomes awful

I have read that Nurtec, another placebo trial medication taken daily has proven effective in trial tests but my insurance company would not approve it. It is an expensive medication and I cannot afford to buy it myself.

My migraines began at age 22. I can’t really travel because of the change in the barometric pressure. My neurologist tells me this is quite common. When there is a front coming in the weather, ( going to rain) I have to prepare for a headache, which is inevitable two days ahead of a weather change.

Popcorn is very bad for migraine sufferers. I do have problems with too much sugar. As I am older now, 86, as I mentioned, sugar has become more of a problem relating to my migraines. I cannot handle chocolate either. I hope this helps all to suffer. Gloria Fenton.

    2. I have Hemiplegic Migraines and can't use any triptans. I've had mini strokes numerous times on triptans. On Aimevig now.

  3. That it will never end.

    1. thats the truth have one now its horrible

  4. That I am going to end up driving people away...because I am one crazy heifer when I am in that much pain.
