10-year old granddaughter with migraines

My 10-year-old granddaughter has inherited my migraines. My daughter has reached out for help from the school counselor, but to no avail. She asked me for tips for managing her migraines. I bought my granddaughter the migraine glasses, and she takes Ibuprofen, but that’s it for now. She does use oils, but they haven’t helped.
Does anyone have some advice for helping children with migraines?

  1. I'm so sorry your granddaughter is struggling. The school counselor may not be educated in how to deal with this issue. If you believe she needs some special accommodations at school, in the United States your daughter can request the school complete a 504 plan for her. Here's an article I found on our site you may find helpful https://migraine.com/living-migraine/supporting-children-with-migraine. April - Migraine.com Team
