Aura confusion
Maybe it's just me, but for many MANY years now I've been telling doctors that i haven't been experiencing aura with migraine and not a single one has corrected me when I gave them the list of the symptoms that i have been experiencing right before a migraine.
I have always thought "aura" was simply visual disturbances like seeing weird things.
But. I also includes hearing things, photophobia,smelling things (for me it's an overwhelming smell o=7 cigarrette 0) so/tr&ï

Thank you for your comments. There is a lot of misunderstanding about migraine, with and without aura. For eample, migraine can be mild, moderate or severe and it is possible to have migraine more days than not.
Some researchers have called migraine a genetic neurobiological disorder which a wide range of symptoms. Migraine with aura impacts about 25% of people with migraine. Neurologists may be fine doctors but have a hard time being experts in one area because they treat so may different conditions such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's and others. Migraine/headache disorder specialists are just that, experts in one area - migraine and headache - and are board certification in headache medicine, which is different than being certified in neurology. It's also important to note that all neurologists are NOT migraine/headache disorder specialists even though they may claim to be and all migraine/headache disorder specialists are not neurologists.
