Cheese agony

👋 Hi everyone I am diabetic , and my blood sugar is very high.
I also suffer with terrible migraines.

I have eliminated gluten and reduced them a lot.
I cabt work out if cheese is a trigger.
It seems 3/4 of time I’m fine then occasionally I get a bad one.
The other day I had one worse than ever.
If I leant down I was in agony I could hardly move and it felt like I had a nerve pain burning through my head.
I was laid for 6 hours and sumatriptan did nothing.

Does this sound normal for a migraine?
One that could be triggered by cheese?

Thank you

  1. I get migraines that are triggered by uncooked dairy so this sounds like me. You may want to explore removing dairy or cheese from your diet and see if that reduces the frequency of migraines.

    1. Very helpful advice. I also have eliminated dairy and found that to be helpful in migraine management. We would definitely encourage to experiment with an elimination diet (if you've not already done so) to uncover potential triggers. Here's some information on elimination diets: https://migraine.com/blog/whats-elimination-diet-manage-one. Additionally, this resource covers some foods that can be common migraine triggers so may be worth avoiding: https://migraine.com/blog/elimination-diet-foods-to-eat-foods-to-avoid. 2. You definitely aren't alone in having cheese as a possible trigger -- it is a very common culprit and we have had a lot of discussions about it on the site in the past. If you'd like to take a look at some of them, here is a link to our archives:
