Does anyone have these triggers, cough, sneeze, bending over ?

I get migraines every time I cough, sneeze, bending over, and putting my head down to sleep, with Aura. or no Aura.

  1. hi! I was looking for this question! I have had migraines for 30 years but in the last 6 months every time I yawn cough laugh sneeze burp cry etc I get a severely painful throbbing in the left side of my head that last only for a few seconds. Because this is a new symptom for me I am getting an MRI in a few weeks. I am a cancer survivor and my neurologist didn't seem to be concerned this was something to do with metastasis but perhaps a vascular issue. I do not and never have had aura.

    1. So sorry to hear your neurologist was not so helpful in responding to your needs. Here is some information on the various current treatments available for migraine: https://migraine.com/migraine-treatment
Let us know what other questions you have and how else we can support you. Warmly, Holly (migraine.com team).

    2. Thank you Holly, you are so much helpful.

  2. My doc could not be even bothered to look at my MRA, Just ordered me some pills off the top of his head without much thought. is your's on the left side as well, the Temple area.
Mine last for about 5-30 hours.

    1. When I looked at the MRI order, diagnosis said 'benign exertional headache' so I'm not too worried, but it is highly annoying. My grandfather died of a left carotid stroke and I have a persistent trigeminal artery in my left side, so I'm wondering if something is going on there, because the pain is on the left (at the intersection between my eye and temple). But honestly, I'm totally expecting NOTHING.
Am I the only person who wishes they'd find something so they could actually FIX it???

      1. makes mine worse but I know it helps for a LOT of people

      2. We have many people here who have used various forms of medical marijuana -- CBD, THC or both. Everybody is different in how they respond. -Melissa, migraine.com team
