How have your migraine attacks changed over time?

Has the frequency changed? Which symptoms have you experienced or stopped experiencing as they've changed? Have you changed how you managed your attacks through the years?

  1. One thing that has changed for me is that I have increased tinnitus in my right ear when I have an episode. This is concerning for me. Anyone else? I have had a hearing test and found out there is hearing loss much worse on the right than left. I'm a young 55-yo and this is very concerning for me. Rebecca (team member)

    1. Thank you for the well wishes. Trying to get to a good place in my chronic illnesses' journey. Tough though. Rebecca (team member)

    2. I have tinnitus. I had not considered the two issues being connected, honestly. How dumb am I?!? I am 55. My tinnitus has gotten much worse over this past year and unfortunately, so have my migraines. I average 2-3 per week now. Mine have a lot to do with the weather (I get them before it rains.) I'm on topiramate & ubrelvy.

  2. My migraines have definitely changed over time. At first, they were super frequent, but now they come less often. The pain used to be really intense, but now I mostly get nausea and sensitivity to light. I’ve learned to manage them better too – keeping hydrated and reducing stress has helped a lot. I also avoid certain foods that trigger them, which has made a big difference. How about you?

    1. I'm glad they are less frequent for you. I think that migraine management is a personal development experience in so many ways - the management evolves as we learn ourselves better. Was it tricky to learn to have a new diet as you avoided more foods?

Thanks for your contributions! Tracy (Team Member)

  3. Mine went from afternoon onset to early morning (hypnic) at age 65. I'm 73 now.

    2. wow this happened to me. Didn't know this was a thing. I still get migraines during the day but the majority are at night and wake me up. My doctor and I never spoke about this. Hmmm might be back to the drawing board

  4. Sorry, I'm 64
