Do your symptoms go away before suddenly coming back during the same attack?

I have chronic migraines (every week lately) and it's hard to tell when one attack starts and another ends sometimes. Even when there is a clear attack period though, I seem to feel better then worse again before feeling better and the emotional rollercoaster and guessing game of "am I better now or not" is really exhausting. Does anyone else have this kind of experience where your symptoms seem to be gone or at least almost gone before suddenly coming back with a vengeance during the same attack?

  1. Hi Shelly8,

Great question, thank you for bringing this to the community.

You're not alone in dealing with this. Living with chronic migraine, or any other chronic illness, can leave us feeling like we are riding an "emotional rollercoaster," I know I sure do. There are good days, and bad days which sometimes feel like they run together.

I wish I had more information for you. Hopefully others will be along shortly to share their experiences with you.

Wishing you a low pain day,
    Nancy

    1. Thank you, Nancy. I really appreciate your reply x

      1. This happens to me sometimes. It actually happened to me yesterday. My first dose of Maxalt seemed to get the pain and other symptoms under control, but then the pain came back as bad, if not worse, than before, so I had to take a 2nd dose. Still didn't completely knock it out, and later I took some Excedrin to see if I could finally get some relief. Even on days when my meds work as quickly as they should, my migraine usually gets worse before it finally gets better. So you're not alone in this! Prayers you will find a solution and feel better ASAP.

        Liz
