Hallucinations

I have been living with migraines since I was a year old. When I was younger they involved a lot of pain, vomiting, auras and dizzy spells to the point where I simply couldn't function at all. As I've gotten older they've become better or perhaps I've just learned to control the triggers. Within the past year the migraines have add a new side effect. I begin out with pain, now typically behind my eyes in the morning, then I get chills and nausea. Naturally I try to sleep. Lately before I'm able to fall asleep with the migraine there is a hallucination phase. By hallucination I literally mean hearing voices in the house where there are no people, making phone calls to people to ask them to come help me and they show up with tea or something and lots of writhing and crying out for help. Evidently I don't make phone calls or anything and there are no people that I somehow manage to be talking to. Since this is new for me I was wondering if it is something I should be concerned about? Is it normal?

  1. Hi 1q4w8v0,

Anytime we have new and/or different symptoms, it's a good idea to contact the doctor. This way he can rule out anything serious. If you haven't talked with the doctor, I would encourage you to do so this coming week.

Let us know how you are feeling,
    Nancy

    1. That sounds scary. I do hope you go to talk to someone about that. I wish you well!

      1. Hi , I was wondering if you ever got help for the hallucinations as my daughter has migraines and her new symptom is hallucinations of bats and moths. She is 14 and very scared and I don’t know how to help her.
