Has anyone else had severe dizzy spells along with loss of balance?

I have read that this is linked to migraine. What does anyone else think? I have such frequent migraines, it is hard to tell. The dizziness and balance problems are newer. I have this strange feeling that after years of migraines and some seizures thrown in there, that my brain has been damaged. So now I get the dizziness and loss of balance along with some falls. Any thoughts?

  1. Hi - thanks so much for sharing your experience with dizziness and loss of balance. Both of these can be related to general migraines, as well as in vestibular migraines. Check out this list of symptoms and see if they resonate: https://migraine.com/migraine-types/vestibular-migraine. If this is a long-standing issue, you can also ask for a referral to a physical therapist that focuses on vestibular rehab. They can help you find exercises to reduce loss of balance. Here's a link: https://migraine.com/living-migraine/vestibular-rehab. Do either of these resources resonate with what you're going through, or have I missed the mark at all? Hope to hear back from you soon. We're here to help! - Cody (Team Member)

    1. I get vertigo often with or without pain. It's still a form of migraine.

      1. It sure can be! Have you had a chance to mention this to your provider? If not I would encourage you to. So many options available now to manage migraine disease!

      1. is it challenging for you to access a medical provider for help with your migraine? Have you had one in the past? It's a shame you feel on your own. When you feel better, do come back - we are here for you. Warmly, Tracy (Team Member)

    3. Everytime I mention getting me a doctor for migraines he refers me to the pain doctor he says medication is too expensive which unfortunetly is true .. I finally have gotten the pain doctor to do cortizone where I hurt my back but need to wait because he just did my hips ..He believes in beta blockers which does not work for me .Its pretty bad when your afraid to get out of bed ! I have not been doing my excercise for vertigo but will start up again . Wish it would go away for another 20 years but in the meantime I take one day at a time and pray.. Thanks for listening it means a lot to me Susan

      1. we are all here for you, Susan, anytime you want to talk. I'm really sorry that they feel it's too expensive - are they deciding for you, or do they mean the insurance won't pay for it?
