I have tried everything and am giving up hope, what can I do?

  1. I hear your frustration. Please know you're not alone, and don't give up - we're always here to share information, support, and anytime you just need an ear. . Please know that each of us is beautifully unique and the results of treatment protocols vary greatly. The best thing we can advise is to check with your doctor. Please let us know if you are able to connect, and how it goes.

    1. It is so normal to feel this way when you are up against the sometimes relentless severe pain and accomanying symptoms that come with migraine. I'm so glad you reached out to us for help and support. That's a great first step. I'd like to recommend a few next steps: 1) If you haven't already, I'd suggest spending some time on migraine.com to look up articles that are relevant to you- or going to the facebook page to read what others are facing. Remembering you are not alone can be an enormously grounding tool. Many times we are the only people we know (in real life) who have it this bad so it can be a huge source of relief to find others who are struggling in the same way and to learn what is working for them, or sometimes just to commiserate and find or offer support. 2) If you feel you have tried everything in terms of treatment options, it might be time to try a new doctor. A migraine specialist, if you're not already working with one, is likely best equipped to address the condition. This article has a link that can help you find specialists near you: https://migraine.com/blog/looking-for-a-migraine-specialist/ 3) If you're feeling like giving up hope, I hear you and it's time to get some emotional support. This is really hard stuff and it makes us all dig very deep to get through it. You deserve all the support you can get - both online and in-person. This may come in the form of counselors, medical professionals, and support groups as well to help in dealing with the extreme hardship that can come from migraines. And, just in case you may ever need it, I want to offer the following resources: the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 and/or www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org for live chat. I hope these ideas have been helpful. Again, thank you so much for reaching out. Please know we are thinking of you and are here should you have any other questions or need for support.

      1. The above 2 replies are the best replies. My last ditch effort were the sphenopalatine-ganglion-blocks (SPG shots) and they have really helped me. I have learned that what works for one may not work for another that is why finding a migraine specialist is a must - they will know your needs the best.
