I really did it yesterday :(

So yesterday morning I woke up and had some serious issues. My boyfriends dog took off when I let him out, my phone wasn't working, I was soooo tired (my hormones are NOT doing well right now), and by the time I got in touch with my friend to make sure we still had plans, I was late and had to jump in the shower and leave.

I had my daith pierced a few months ago and since have seen AMAZING results. One of the things I really enjoy doing now is drinking. Like holy crap lets have some wine right?!?!

Yesterday I had plans to have bloddy marys at the local bloody mary bar. It was a ball. I'm so glad we were able to make it work even with all my morning challenges.

Then I had a family function. 10 adults and 5 children under 8 all in one room. It was also really fun. That is until they turned the TV on for the kids, my brothers were messing around with he piano, everyone was talking to someone, and someone turned the vacuum on.

My migraine hit me so hard I almost threw up. I had to immediately leave, drive home as best I could with lights shining in my eyes, and then I barely made it to the toilet for a lovely round of dry heaving and throwing up.

I was down for the rest of the night.

It was about 9pm that I realized I forgot to take my migraine pills for the day.

I don't know how I got so comfortable that I could have even remotely forgotten my pills.

I'm suffering today at work but still at work so it could be worse and I'll probably have to have a shot of immitrex later which sucks because I already took excedrine this morning and I've only used abortive meds like 5 times total since getting my piercing.

I just had to share with anyone who might understand. My family thinks I faked the migraine to get out of cleaning up.

  1. Hi clairenicole,

Thank you for sharing your story with us and being part of the Migraine.com discussion forum.

That sounds like an exhausting day, I'm sorry you had to go through that. We've heard from many members who have had good luck with the daith piercing, I'm glad it's working for you.

I understand about family/friends thinking we "fake" having a migraine attack to get out of doing things. I would much rather clean up that have a migraine attack that's for sure. People who haven't experienced migraine don't seem to understand that. Cleaning trumps migraine every time!
