I thought about trying a nerve block for my migraines. It sounds promising. I know it doesn't work for everyone. Had anyone ever tried this? It's done in the neck around the occipital nerve.

I've had many procedures including medial branch nerve blocks with little success.
From my understanding occipital nerve blocks are not covered by insurance nonetheless l am going to look into it, as l am at my wits end with these things.
Hoping you find relief !

I am now going to try botox treatments starting next week. I hope it works for me. I don't want to be on anymore medications. It just keeps growing. And I'm in a brain fog all the time. Had anyone found relief with botox?

Hi
I hope you don't mind if I chime in here share my experience with Botox. I got my first set of injections in 8/2016 and it took four rounds of it before I noticed an improvement. It's made a huge difference in my attack frequency reducing them to about 12-15 down from 25-28 days a month. That's a win for me! While Botox isn't a cure, it can go a long way in helping reduce attack frequency and severity. My acute medication, sumatriptan nasal spray has also been more effective. Try not to lose hope - we're here for you!
I hope you keep us posted and I'm sending you wishes for a low pain day, Nancy Harris Bonk, Patient Leader/Moderator (team member)

I've done it a couple times when I've been in a massive migraine that lasted more than a week. And it does help. But it also makes me really sleepy, groggy, and non-functional, so I can't do it on a work day.
