Ionic magnesium

My son recently told me about a coworker of his, who’s son was completely cured of his migraines after starting Ionic Magnesium.
The only articles I’m finding about this on here are older, & I’m wondering if anyone here has any recent experience with this?
Of course, I am also going to discuss it with my doctor, I have co-morbidities that I can’t play around with (Chronic DVTs), but, I’m wondering if anyone has anything specific to say about their experience with this, positive or negative.
Thank you.

  1. Hi there- Thanks as always for your engaging questions and participation with our community. You're right that we don't have a lot on this topic. I know about the use of magnesium but don't understand how Ionic Magnesium is different from that. I hope someone from our community will chime in with some experience and insights for you. Warmly- Holly -migraine.com team.

    1. Hi Holly! 🥰 Thank you for your response. It was my youngest grandsons birthday last week & we went to my sons house for a party for him, so that’s when this subject came up. Ironically, we had to leave early, bc, guess what? Yes, I got a migraine, & the Norco wasn’t helping much, if at all. 😖 I have a doctors appointment early next month, so I’ll be discussing it with him, then, too.
      Very best wishes, dear Holly.
      Hope you are well. 💕
      Ruth

      1. So sorry you had to leave the party early, Ruth. I hope, if you have the time, you might let us know what your doctor says about this after your upcoming appointment? That would be helpful for us to learn from you. Always good to hear from you. I am okay- thanks for asking. Thinking of you, my dear. - Holly (migraine.com team).

    2. Yes, Holly, I’ll be glad to do that. I have this feeling that I’ve tried it before, ages ago, when I also tried Butterbur, cutting out artificial sweeteners, acupuncture, biofeedback & a lot of other natural/homeopathic type things that I can’t even remember at the moment. Unfortunately, none of them worked, or, if they seemed to, it was only for a very brief time. It’s been so long, that I don’t remember specifically about the magnesium. I’ll keep you posted. 🥰

      1. It can be hard to keep track of all the interventions we've employed over the multi-year journey of migraine, right? I know that's a challenge for me. However, the other thing to keep in mind is that we evolve over time, and something that didn't work before may happen to work now and vice versa. So it may be worth a try if it's been years since you last gave it a shot. Thinking of you- Holly (migraine.com team).

    3. Hey, Ruth, thanks for mentioning that! We have soooo much content here, but inevitably there are some things we haven't explored. Maybe somebody on the team will write about this down the road now that you've brought it up! 😀 Good to see you as always! -Melissa, migraine.com team
