Definitely to not give up. If I knew then that certain foods would egg one on, I would avoid it. Listen more to what my body is saying. Its ok to not be ok. Its ok to have no spoons available or if I do, not feel guilty for holding on to them.

Keep a journal of food/drink and how you feel 20-30 minutes afterwards to see if there are any triggers. Get enough sleep and try to maintain a schedule. Educate your family on what a migraine is and how it feels. For example running my head full force into a cement wall or an ice pick to the eyes. Do the research on the meds available and find a doctor that specializes in migraines or a neurologist.

Don’t be a hero. After a concussion brought on chronic migraines I taught elementary school for three years in excruciating pain before finally retiring early. Take care of yourself first.
