Just a quick note

I’m not really here to discuss much today. Yes, I have a migraine, my 4th this week. And, yes, it’s Christmas. Fortunately, I’m Jewish, so, we’ve already celebrated Chanukkah & I was able to get together with my family for that.
I simply wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone here who does celebrate Christmas a very happy one. That includes & is maybe mostly directed towards the facilitators of this site.
You all are fabulous. You are lifesavers. Really. Every day. All year round. I know that I (& others like myself who have to deal with this illness day in & day out,) can come here & know that we are heard. That we are not alone & that there may be help somewhere for us.
It’s SO IMPORTANT. Many people may say they understand. But, they don’t. Not really. Not the day to day reality of what it means to be in pain & compromised such that your world becomes smaller & smaller. Such that you become more & more dependent upon others for normal life.
We know. And, you know. I’m not sure what I’d do without you, but I’m not going to consider it.
I’ve said enough for now, & it’s getting really difficult to type. So, just, thanks. Thank you SO VERY MUCH. G-d bless you & all your families. Merry Christmas 🎄
Love always,
Ruth 💐

  1. thank you for this beautiful and thoughtful message. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing your 4th week of a migraine attack. That's certainly a long time. I'm glad to hear that you were well enough to celebrate Chanukkah with your family. It does mean so much when we can spend time with our family and friends, doesn't it?

And I'm so grateful that you include this community here as part of your support team. It it such a special community here and the true heartbeat of it are our fellow community members to create this place of safety and understanding among people who get it.

Living with a chronic condition like migraine is not easy, but when we come together to help us realize that we are not alone, it makes the day-to-day reality a little easier.

Thank you for your holiday wishes and thank you for being part of this community and sharing your story and experience with us.

    1. Thank you for your heartfelt wishes. I truly hope you were able to celebrate Chanukkah.
Please give your doctor a ring and ask him to help you break this nasty migraine cycle you've been dealing with for so long. It's so frustrating to be in extended pain.
I'm hoping this resolves asap. Will you let me know? Nancy Harris Bonk, Patient Leader/Moderator Migraine.com Team

      1. Ruth, you are so sweet. Sending strength and peace to you in this new year. Grateful for your care and presence here. -Melissa, migraine team
