Thank you for your comment. Actually, we aren't exactly sure what the cause of migraine is. We do know it is a genetic neurological disorder that when we encounter certain stimuli, or triggers this starts a cascade of events that may start an attack.

I started taking Magnesium at night for restless legs. Then my neurologist told me to increase the dosage to 800mg-1200mgs a day. I'm at around 1000mgs using 3 different types of magnesium since some are absorbed better and some can cause diarrhea. I also have IBS with constipation, so the effect on the bowels have helped that some. I've been taking the 1000mgs for about a month and haven't really noticed a difference in my migraines, but the restless legs are better (I also have a topical spray that I use if my legs feel more jumpy than typical or crampy).
Is there any consensus on what type of magnesium is best for migraine? I'm debating between Magnesium glycinate and Magnesium L-Threonate. From what I've read Threonate is mostly hype and only has one rat study behind it.
