RLB, I'm sorry to hear that. It's awful when people pull away for any reason. I think sometimes they don't know how to deal with our pain, or it makes them feel guilty, so they withdraw.
Have you reached out to your friend at all? Friendship absolutely goes both ways, but sometimes I find my friends are waiting to hear from me, too.
I don't drive either, so I understand that frustration! Do you have access to public transportation? You might also want to look into getting permission to ride paratransit (transportation services for people with disabilities). I can try to help you with this, if you'd like. At least this way you can go out on days you are feeling well.
Do you have hobbies you enjoy when your pain level isn't too bad? Book clubs, local discussion groups, places of worship and civic organizations are all good places to start.
You are certainly not alone here. We know how hard it is! The right people will be willing to have a friendship even when your migraines make it difficult. Don't give up. <3 -Melissa, migraine.com team
