Migraines becoming chronic

I was diagnosed with atypical migraines 3.5 years ago. (Though they started around 5 years ago).

To start with they were fairly infrequent. Recently I’ve had one roughly every 3 or 4 days. One 2.5mg Zomig got rid of them though.

I’m on holiday for 10 days now, and I have had a migraine every day. I wake up with them. I need to take 2 x 2.5 Zomig to get rid of them. One day I think I even had an abdominal migraine (I didn’t know they even existed).

I can’t see my Dr until I get back in around a week. I’m terrified to go to sleep as I’ll wake up with a migraine. I’m terrified I’m taking too much Zomig, taking 2 tablets a day.

I just don’t know what to do, now or going forward. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

  1. I'm so sorry you are on holiday and experiencing more migraine attacks. I understand how frustrating that is.
Sometimes we may experience an uptick in attacks when we are "off" our normal schedule. Our migraine brain seems to be very sensitive to any change in routine which can easily occur while on holiday. Things to keep in mind include staying hydrated, not skipping meals, keeping our regular sleeping patterns and to stay away from foods that may trigger attacks. I hope that makes sense and these migraine attacks resolve. Will you keep me posted?
