My Experiences

I'm currently 69 years old in 2024. During the first full week of January 2021 I got a covid vaccine shot as required by my employer and got the follow-up shot a month later in February. Because years ago I had such a great experience with a motorcycle, I decided to buy one again and did so near the end of January 2021. My experience with this motorcycle was not a good one. I now never seemed to have many consecutive days of feeling well, so I didn't have many days of feeling comfortable on two wheels either. In mid-April 2021 I had my first ever migraine. It lasted about 3 days and I felt dazed, as if I was hit in the back of the head with a 2 by 4, tunnel vision, vertigo and stomach discomfort that I described as hunger pain. I continued having these 72 hour long episodes on average about every couple of months. I'm not a big fan of doctors, but I did eventually mentioned it to my doctor, and he said it doesn't sound like a traditional migraine but why don't you go see a Neurologist. The Neurologist said the same thing that it doesn't sound like a traditional migraine. She prescribed an MRI, did examinations and prescribed a medication that I just threw away because the side effects sounded exactly like what I would be taking it for. The only thing that stopped the migraines was a device called a Monicor that my sister-in law has and it does what's called Bioresonance therapy. I haven't been on the Monicor for a long time now and just this past weekend I had a full blown 72 hour episode with aura, vertigo, stomach pain and, this time, a little diarrhea. My sister-in law said she'll bring the Monicor over this Labor Day weekend coming up. BTW, my wife and I did catch covid at the end of December 2021, so I don't think the vaccines and boosters did anything at all for me in that regard!

  1. Hi
Thank you for sharing your experience with our community! Covid has thrown a wrench into many of our lives and for some has made migraine worse. I've had Covid one, and that was enough for me!
I hope this recent migraine attack has subsided. Do you take anything for relief? I look forward to hearing more about Monicor!
Sending you wishes for a low pain day, Nancy Harris Bonk, Patient Leader/Moderator (team member)

    1. Hi Nancy,
Very soon after waking up on Saturday I was in misery and the misery continued, except for subsiding while sleeping, until yesterday, Monday, mid-afternoon when I realized it was going away. I felt normal yesterday evening and I today I feel great! Here's something on Monicor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd2x46ZvVg8 And I have to tell you that I'm an extreme skeptic, I'm not in the least a conspiracy theorist and I'm not a hypochondriac. The last thing I want to do is see a doctor, but I have to admit that after a few sessions on my sister-in law's Monicor I didn't have a single migraine for a long period of time, while prior to that they were quite regular.

      1. wow!! I had not heard of the Monicor device. I actually had to look it up to see what it was, and, how it was supposed to work. Very interesting. I know you do not use it all the time, but I hope someone does some kind of clinical trial to see where a person's baseline is and how much improvement they had without any medications versus those with medication.
I hope that it continues to work and you do not have these often. I know you say a neurologist, but maybe a headache specialist or second opinion would be able to get to the bottom of this. Hoping you will get more use of your motorcycle soon!! (Tonya, team member).
