Newbie- worsening migraines..or?

Hi all
I've had migraines since my early 20s. Started when reading a book and all the words on my right hand side of the page suddenly became blurry and moving. I had no headache after it..so Gp trip..and migraine diagnosis. I've had lots of examples of aura- sparkles/ zigzag but no follow up headache. For years have also had headaches and no aura so discounted them as migraines. Realising as i get older they are exactly that. Classic temple/ onesided/ face/ prickly sensation under eye headaches. More recently eg this side of the year have had a real slew of them. They aren't as sore always or necessarily linked to hormones as they once were but more constant. Have increasingly become v nauseous and lightheaded too..with mild discomfort in head but not sure if this is prodrome or not. The nausea and lightheadedness is intermittently recurring across a day and my migraine monitoring app showing this but nit necessarily pain- just bit tightnessin head or neck. Ive been to gp for lightheadedness and they thought then it was...but its worse and more frequent. I have been referred to neuro for other things re pins n needles and what are frankly potentially related so am trying sort wheat from chaff.

Does anyones migraine resonate with this?

  1. Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your story with us.

Yes, many of the things you've described can be associated with migraine disease. Having said that, we can't give medical advise online, and I hope the neurologist has answers for you.

Only about 25-30% of people with migraine experience aura, and it's possible to have more than one type of headache disease such as migraine with aura, migraine without aura, tension-type headache and more! And it's common that most of us do!
