Other physical problems too

Migraines have been with me since I was a teenager. Sometimes they come day after day and then I can go for several days and hear myself say, or think, wow, I haven't had a headache for 3 days. The odds of having one any day anytime are near 95%. Two years ago, I had COVID, spent 3 days in the hospital where they could do nothing for me as I had it for too long before I went to the hospital, stubborn. Since the COVID diagnosis, I have developed long COVID, severe asthma and paralyzed vocal cords. It is difficult to handle a migraine along with my other ailments. My doctor said I will have the long COVID and the other things until I die. Thanks for reading my "story".

  1. Thank you for sharing your difficult journey with us. Living with multiple chronic health issues is so frustrating - please know we're here for you.
    Long Covid can be so debilitating, I'm sorry you are dealing with this on top of migraine disease. I believe there is research into long Covid looking for answers.
    Having long term migraine can be exhausting as well. Is the doctor you see a true expert in headache and migraine disease? Here's why I ask; general neurologists may be fine doctors but have a hard time being experts in one area because they treat so many conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's and more. Many general neurologists who treat people with migraine and headache disease claim to be experts but that may not be 100% accurate. A true migraine expert is board certified in headache medicine not all neurologists have, and treats migraine and headache all day, every day. Here is more information on why these doctors are beneficial and where to find them;

    1. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with migraine and covid. That certainly is a lot to manage. It unfortunately is very common for individuals living with MS to be managing other health conditions as well. Personally I have migraine and Multiple Sclerosis, so I can relate firsthand to the struggles.

      I see that Nancy shared a lot of resources with you and I hope that you find them to be helpful.

      In the meantime, has your doctor discussed a treatment plan with you on how to manage migraine? There are a lot of options available now, so hopefully you can find one that works best for you.
