Rain and Migraine

Any tips out there for preventing weather related migraine flares? Thanks

  1. because weather-related migraines seem to affect people differently I think answering this question might be tricky. Below I attached two articles from our site on this subject that hopefully will give you some insight or guidance:

Also, have you spoken to your physician regarding this subject? I wish you much relief.~Lynne( Migraine team member)

    1. navigating weather-related migraine flares can be tough. I don't think we will ever be able to control those barometric pressure variations that make many of us so miserable. My husband suffers from chronic migraine disease and his headache specialist has prescribed him a drug called Diamox. It has several uses apparently and is used for altitude sickness. He tracks the barometric pressure variations in his Migraine Buddy app and takes the medication when there is a moderate to severe fluctuation expected. For him, it does seem to reduce the intensity of an attack. We live in Florida so the weather can get quite feisty sometimes especially during hurricane season! It may be worth discussing with your doctor and seeing what their thoughts are. I hope you have an awesome day! Warmly, Cheryl migraine.com team
