Right side temple headache

Hello,
I am new here and I am hoping that I can get some help with this. I have been reading through some of the forums and they are fantastic.
I am a headache sufferer and i will share my situation below.
For the last 20+ years i have been getting a monthly headache, its always the same:
-Only in the right temple area, no where else
-starts in the morning
-gets worse throughout the day
-usually lingers for 2-3 days
-started to get them in my mid 20's, around the same time i started working in an office (desk work for the most part)
-no triggers that i can pinpoint

I have been to the doctor many times for this. The best luck i have had is a prescription of naproxen and bacoflan that i need to take at the first hint of a headache. It helps, it reduces the discomfort\pain level from a ten down to about a 4 or a 5.

I am just hoping someone can share from their experience if they have something similar. Any information would be appreciated.

I know it could be a lot worse. I know people have bad headaches almost daily, so i know once a month is not bad. I am just hoping to find away to make them stop or lessen the duration even more.

Thank you for reading and any comments would be appreciated.
Thank you

  1. , I'm sorry you've been suffering with this for a long time. Over the years, have you been evaluated by a headache specialist? Many factors can play into a headache condition, so getting assessed is always a good idea. A primary doctor is a good start, but a specialist will be the best bet. They treat headache conditions all day, every day, and are experts. I'm glad you are only affected for brief periods each month and that you've found something that helps dial down your head pain. One-sided headaches are common with migraine, but they could also be something else. If you need help finding a specialist in your area, here is a good resource.
