Symptoms That Last Between Migraines

I'm dealing with frustrating and distracting flashes of light in my vision, and my neurologist assumes they're migraine-related (Eye imaging and EEG came back pretty good, waiting on MRI). Is that a thing any of you experience?? Do the neurological symptoms from migraines just *stick around*?

  1. Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm sorry you are having extended issues. Typically, visual aura symptoms go away when the attack is over. Having said that, there are people who experience visual disturbances very frequently, I'm sorry to say.
It's good to know your exams are coming back normal. Have you seen an eye doctor? If not, you may want to.
    I hope this passes quickly,
    Please keep me posted!

    1. Hi, thanks for responding. I saw a neuro-opthamologist when the flashing lights turned into a blind spot. When the flashing lights can't back strong before my next migraine and lingered again after, my neuro suggested my brain is doing migraine stuff even outside of migraines. Or maybe they're seizures, cuz who really knows Gonna have to wait on my next MRI for more info, cuz EEG came back too clean. Thanks again for responding!

      1. At this point I am having more visual, physical and emotional symptoms than regular migraines. But my diagnosis has turned into migraine with aura with or without head pain. At this point it is mostly without head pain just everything and anything else. I have some visual symptoms every day. It is not my eyes. It is my brain dysfunctioning.

        1. Hi Luna, thanks for responding! It's scary and frustrating dealing with these neurological and visual symptoms without fully understanding them, and there's so little information and shared experience online. I'm sorry that you're dealing with this, but it's validating to hear that others are experiencing something similar. Hope we both find solutions quick

        2. I hear you, Luna -- aura and other symptoms of migraine can be so disruptive. You're not alone here! Feel free to ask questions or vent whenever you need to. -Melissa, migraine.com team
