Unsure If These Are Migraines?

Figured I’d reach out; see if other people have anything similar to what I’ve recently been experiencing.

I’m 22, male (assigned female at birth; on testosterone), and I’m not sure if I’ve ever had a migraine before. Ever. And knowing a lot of people who have had migraines somewhat regularly, I’m not jealous. But I’ve recently started experiencing (or maybe noticing? But I think it’s a recent thing) some symptoms that seemed to crop up all at the same time.

I’ll have tiny, dark specks in my vision, which go away almost immediately. I mistake them for bugs constantly, since we’ve had those issues in the house, but like I said, gone almost as soon as they appear.

Then there’s a fair amount of muscle twitching. It’s mainly in my legs; just a tiny little involuntary movement without pain. I have restless leg, but never in this form. That comes in the form of a weird, uncomfortable feeling in my legs.

I have no idea if it’s related, but I also experienced a bout of vertigo a few nights ago, which isn’t common for me.

With all this going on, I can’t seem to figure out what the heck it is! I figure it’s probably something that comes in a lot of forms, and migraines came to mind. The only thing that makes me think that maybe it isn’t is how the twitching is a daily thing. I don’t know if a migraine would last for a good number of weeks. The spots are slightly less common, and the vertigo only once.

I doubt all of this is anything serious, but I’d love to know what’s going on! Anyone else experience symptoms like these? Sorry for rambling!

  1. Hi these must have been somewhat scary symptoms to be experiencing all of the sudden for the first time. I have experienced vertigo and dark vision spots with my migraines, something that has also been reported by our other community members, but the leg muscle twitching is less common. Are you having generalized head, face, ear, neck pain with these episodes (for lack of better word) too?

I'm also wondering has there been a change in your hormone dosage recently? I would certainly consult your doctor, just to get checked out, share your recent experiences, and get their professional feedback.

Wishing you the best. Please keep us updated on how it goes!
